Starrily Custom Polish - Hup Holland Hup!

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a special post: Starrily.com contacted me about if I would be interested in designing a nail polish, to introduce a new feature of her webshop: Create Your Own (5-Free!) Nail Polish! Well as you might probably expect, I did not have to think twice! I did however have to think a lot about WHAT I wanted to design. I had too many ideas, TOO MANY! Then I decided that instead of colours, I wanted to design for an occasion. And with the upcoming World Cup Football, I had my occasion right there. So I hereby present: "Hup, Holland, Hup!" And Starrily is giving away one bottle to one of my followers, so to enter this INTERNATIONAL giveaway, fill in the rafflecopter below!

Being Dutch, football is part of my life, whether I want it or not. I really have no say in the matter. It's on TV alll the time on a regular day already, but when there are international championships, there's really no escaping the matter. On a regular day, the silly ball game does not interest me much. However, when we compete other countries for some kind of title, suddenly I transform into a fanatical football expert and there's nothing anyone can do about it! I'm not the only one afflicted by this phenomenon. No, the entire country is suddenly infected with "Orange Fever" and there is really nowhere you can go that is not covered in our country's national colour. Hence we come to this nail polish:

The name refers to what we sing to cheer on our team: "Hup, Holland, Hup!"; red, white and blue triangles represent the three colours of our flag; orange dots and stars, for the colour of our monachy; and finally gold, gold, gold! We were so close to winning last time, but we messed it up. So gold is for the dream all us Dutchies have, of becoming the World Champion.

For this swatch, I decided to put it over black (this is two thin coats), so you can fully appreciate the fun and madness of this polish. Madness, yes, as it so perfectly describes the Orange Hysteria that will be upon us as soon as the World Cup starts. And fun, yes, for it connects us Dutchies in a postitive matter. I like that :) I also like the formula of this bad boy, it applied really well and is just frickin' packed with glitter, so no fishing required.

Now this pretty is available as a limited edition at Starrily.com for all of you! (I'm so honoured!!!) And if you want to design your own nail polish, don't hesitate and go here. Be sure to visit Starrily's pages!

  9. I saw this giveaway on Facebook and decided just to go ahead and purchase some! I knew it had some sort of WorldCup connection but didn't much care and just thought it was very cool.
I was very excited when I saw that I had been sent 1/50!
Was finally able to get it on my nails last night. I combined it with gel polish (that you "cook" on) and let the regular polish cure over night before adding the gel top coat.
The base color I used is super dark - China Glaze Lubu Heels and it looks amazing.
Thanks for designing such a cool polish!

I can imagine your mani and I think combining it with gel polish is such a good idea! I think it will give it more depth... Do you have a picture? Please show me if you do :) You can email it, tag me on IG, put it on the facebook page, tweet it.. Any way you prefer, I would just love to see it :D
