Ms. Sparkle "Brazilian Carnival" Collection

Hi lovelies!

I have another beautiful glitter crelly and jelly collection from Ms. Sparkle today: the Brazilian Carnival collection. The collection features six bright and festive glitter crellies and jellies inspired by the colourful carnival extravaganza of Brazil.

Hi beauties :)

The parade was today. I decided to go for a simple mani, because I was having a headache and the fumes were getting to me ;)

I was inspired by clowns and dots and old photos I had seen at an exhibition on the history of carnival in my home village. 

This design I have seen on various fellow bloggers' nails, and I decided to do it with these odd colours, for a twist and a typical clown costume design:

I used Essence "Little Miss Sunrise" for the yellow, Essence "A Walk in the Park" for the green, and a simple dotting tool. 

When I was half-way through this design, I didn't really like it. But when it was finished, it was so "in-your-face",  that I really liked. Perfect for Carnival :)

We had a lot of family over, and I did my cousin's nails, her daughter's, and my aunts' :) Will post them this week.

As you can see, I used my new photo editing apps on my phone (that one is supposed to use for instagram [@manisandmakeovers]), it's new to me, so totally addictive! Love it :)

Indiana Weave Motif

Hey hey hey! 

Yesterday we had a carnival themed mani, this time we have a carnival mani that matches a costume! Lieutenant has decided to dress up as an old native american person. Now we love the colours, fabrics and overall beauty of the various indigenous peoples of the Americas. So coming up with a mani wasn't hard. Here it is, "Indiana Weave Motif":

The brown base is our franken polish "Pocahontas". The yellow, blue and red colours are from Essence, "Little Miss Sunrise", "The Boy Next Door" and "Gorgeous Bling-bling". We worked the design from inside out, starting with the red, and a little brush, freehanding the weave motif. The accent nails, the thumbs this time, have real feathers on them, which we glued down using nail glue, after the yellow base had dried. Then we added topcoat to seal everything in :)
