Hello lovelies!

We're playing our first game in the European Football Championship of 2021 as I'm writing this and I'm stoked! We're playing against Ukraine. Usually football doesn't interest me much, but during international championships I'm suddenly an enormous fan. Funny how that works! So here's my mani in support of our team:

Green Fizz Fun!

Hey lovelies!

The other day, I googled "Bourjois Green Fizz" and found that google showed my swatches! This of course made me do several dances in my living room ;) I also found an awesome mani with Green Fizz, that I simply HAD to recreate. It needed two polishes, namely Green Fizz (doh) and W7 "Cosmic Green". I did not own the latter yet, and had not give myself permission to buy it yet either! But last week, The Lieutenant and I decided to go budget shopping, and she bought a pair of lovely shoes. Then we found this clothing store in which the highest priced item was 5 euros! I found 2 awesome knits and The Lieutenant found a bold belt :)

One of the knits happened to have the exact Green Fizz colour, so there I had my excuse to go buy Cosmic Green to create the mani, so that I could wear the new shirt with the mani to the department's barbecue. Sadly, it was really cold, so after an hour I really needed to wear my jacket, but suffering the cold for an hour was totally worth it. So without further ado, I give you Green Fizz Fun!

With the lovely knit and my bracelet:

This is two coats of Green Fizz on my thumb, middle finger and ring finger, and one coat of Green Fizz with two coats of Cosmic Green on my index finger and pinky! Cosmic Green is a lovely glitter bomb with gold and blue glitter, creating a green illusion. I used my dotting tool for the dots.

What do you think, do you love it as much as I do? It sparkled so bright, it was fantastic!

Hello!!

My friend wanted frenchies, so we did frenchies! We also used nail stickers from Max Make-up. Here goes:

First I applied a base coat. Then I painted the tips with Bourjois white nail polish, which has a specially curved brush that makes it a lot easier:

No tip guides needed! Then I topped it with Essence Studio Nails Pro White Rosé. Next I applied some stickers from Max and some dots with Bourjois "Blue no Blues" and that's it! We both rocked these french manis, me for 2 days, she for a week and a half! (I don't know how she does it ;-) )

Oh and surprise surprise, my stickers were glow-in-the-dark! It kinda scared me at first, when I switched off my bed lamp and something shiny made its way to me, until I realised it was my own hand :P

Swatch-It Sunday: Bourjois Summer Colours: Sunny Sunday, Blue No Blues and Green Fizz + nail art!

Hey beauties!

Today's Swatch-It Sunday centres around 3 summer colours from this year's collection of Bourjois:  Sunny Sunday, Blue No Blues and Green Fizz. 3 lovely cremes, and Sunny Sunday (which it finally was today!!!) has a shimmer that catches sunlight beautifully. They are the special fast application & fast drying polishes and I find  So without further ado: Sunnyyyyyyy Sundaaaaaaaaaaay!

Look at the shimmer:

Sunny Sunday & Green Fizz

Sunny Sunday was almost opaque in 2 coats. It is a bit gooey, but it's good for a yellow polish. Now on to Green Fizz:

Green Fizz looks GREAT with pink:

This one was also a bit gooey, but opaque in 2 coats and fast-drying. The same goes for Blue no Blues:

All of a sudden there was actual sunlight:

I LOVE this blue! It is so super happy! The colour of a summer sky. So now some nail art. I got two other Bourjois polishes to join these three, Rose Cupcake and Lavende Esquisse and just freehanded this:

Okay, it turned out a bit Easter-ish. So what :P Easter is happy :P That's it folks! Not much to say, except that I love these polishes for their bright colours, opacity and easy application brushes. They are great as bases for nail art.

Puzzled

Hello lovelies!

The Lieutenant required a new mani, the Captain decided (she needed to paint). After seeing all these lovely autism awareness manis and seeing many puzzle pieces, I wanted to try it. The Lieutenant decided on the colour: red. She was feeling sexy ;) 

This is the result!

I used Bourjois "Rouge in Style" for the red, Essence "Shopping Trip in Soho" and "Little Miss Sunrise" for the pink and yellow, respectively. For the peach, I used the one from Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours. Then I took a black striper, to outline the puzzle pieces.

The puzzle pieces themselves were done by making 4 squares in different colours, and then taking a dotting tool and placing the connective pieces in all colours.

Paris, je t'aime!

Hi hi hi!

I'm back babies!

This is my simple Paris mani, I didn't have a lot of time... But I did get to try out my new glitter topper from L'Oreal, Confetti, a nice topper with  white and black glitter in two sizes, and some shimmer that unfortunately I couldn't capture here, but I will try some other time with another camera and sunlight ;)

The Lieutenant joined me, not to Paris unfortunately, but just for the mani :) I used two really fast-drying polishes as the base, because of the limited amount of time: Bourjois "Rose Cupcake" and "Rouge Velvet". I attempted an Eiffel Tower with my white striper, but it didn't turn out too well. Oh well... Paris was amazing, and I got to do people's nails over there, so yay! Will show you soon.

Spring Table Cloth

Hello lovelies! 

Sorry, weekends are mostly too hectic for blogging.. But I did work on my next entry that was due today for Tip Top Nails South Africa's nail art contest, and the task was to do a floral design, using only reds, pinks, purples, browns and nudes. So after a week of contemplation, this was the result!

I used Catrice "Sing: Oh, Champs-Élysées" as my base, and then added the lines with my brown striper from Max Make-up, available for almost nothing at Action's, a local store. 

The nude is really nice, it's a bit salmon-pinkish, and a lovely spring nude.

After that, I took out my dotting tool and created the flowers. First with Bourjois "Rouge Velvet" and then with "Rose Cupcake". Finally I dotted the hearts of the flowers with the nude from Catrice again. 

Topcoated it, and done!

Hestia

Hiiiii!

We're back with another goddess. It's Hestia, goddess of home and hearth. The first offering at every sacrifice in a household, went to her. Her symbol is, surprise, fire. Hence fire is on my nails now!

This picture was taken in diffuse daylight.

I started with a layer of Bourjois "Rouge in Style", and on the accent nail, I also applied one coat of W7 "Red Dazzle", as can be seen here:

This picture was taken in artificial light.

Then I saran marbled with Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours gold. With my striper from Etos, I freehanded the outline of the flames on my accent nail, and since it is my right hand, that is shown here, I had to do it with my left (which still has Hygieia on it, with the pretty snake, that I just could NOT remove yet ;) ). I'm sorta proud of my left hand for drawing this while shaking BADLY! 

Then I added some more Red Dazzle to the accent nail, in the center of the flames, to make it more fiery!

And that's it :) We'll continue the Goddesses until the end of February (so Thursday) :)

Last Minute VDay Mani - Marbled Love

Hey hey, Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm sure it's still Valentine's Day on some continents now, so it's completely legit for me to post this last minute VDay mani! I was in such a lovely mood after winning Herôme's VDay Nail Art Contest! So my friend had to undergo a fiery love mani. I wanted to keep it relatively simple, since there wasn't a lot of time and we were also watching "How To Train Your Dragon", which might have had something to do with the fire ;) (Excellent movie btw!)

This is the result - Marbled Love:

I did a saran wrap mani with Bourjois "Rouge In Style" and Rimmel "Black Out", freehanded a heart on the basecoat (Rimmel "5in1 Nail Treat") with a black striper from Etos, and then added glitters from my Essence Nail Art Kit "Designer for a Day". Topcoated everything and voilà: A Sexy Valentine's Mani :)

Skittle the Love

Hey  beauties!

I think this will be my last VDay mani for this year, since I'm kinda out of inspiration at the moment. I did a Valentine Skittle mani with lots of glitters on my own hands, since Kiss 'n Glitz had started chipping very soon.. Never an issue, as long as there is polish nearby! ;)

So there it is, Skittle the Love!

From Thumb to pinky:

On the thumb, we have W7 "Cosmic Mauve", with kisses done with Rimmel "Black Out". 

Then we have W7 "Shirley Temple" with W7 magic beads, that I recently purchased. 

The middle finger is done with Essence "What do u think" that I got from a friend :) The glitters that form the heart are from the Essence's LE Vintage District nail decoration kit 02: "Designer for a Day".

(Have been waiting so long for it to finally come out! There are only tiny amounts of glitter and beads in there, but enough for a whole lot of manis, and since this stuff is somewhat hard to come by in here, I'm super grateful for this! It's not expensive either, as goes for all Essence's stuff <3 )

The ring finger is Rimmel "Diamond Dust" topped off with a fimo heart that I got from a nail art kit from Max & More called "Nail Paradise". I don't like half the things that are in there, but for this mani, the heart is ok. In that kit were also the rhinestones I used on my pinky, pressed down in a base of Bourjois "Rose Cupcake", and I doodled a heart with W7 Silver. 

That was fun! My nails sure are a happy bunch now :D

Kiss 'n glitz

Happy Wednesday!

So what should I do on my own nails? I didn't have a clue, until I saw Cutepolish new tutorial, and decided to spin that around a bit. I wanted dark nails and I wanted to try out my new pink flakie topper, so I decided on a flakie gradient with kisses on the tips! And this is the result!

The base colour is Rimmel "Black Out". The flakie gradient was done with Essence "Party All Night Long" from the nail colour3 "Shopping Trip in Soho" duo. The kisses are Bourjois "Rouge Poppy".

What do you think of this non-traditional Vday mani? I'm kinda diggin' it ;)

The Lady in Red

Hi dear followers!

Today I will show you the mani I did for my mom. Very simple, and sophisticated, because moms can hardly ever get away with load nails. And mine doesn't think they would suit her AT ALL. So this was already kinda funky! And I got to try out my caviar. So happy :D

I give you: The Lady in Red.

 I used Bourjois "Rouge Velvet" and the Magic Beads "Silver Streak" from W7 to add some glam on the accent nails. Here they are in close-up:

My mom was happy with them! Her very own version of Valentine's nails. 

Ok this was a short one again, but need to go to sleep now!

Sweet Hearts in Paris

Hello dear followers!

Had a surge of inspiration for a Valentine's mani, and another sister was so kind to lend her hands:

For some reason, it reminded me of Paris and lace and love. So there you have it, Sweet Hearts in Paris!

We used Bourjois "Rose Satin" as a base, Rimmel "Black Out" for the hearts and a black striper from Etos for all the detailed line work. 

Don't you get fuzzy feelings when you see these?

One of our sisters volunteered her nails for a glitzy valentine's mani :)

The base was done with one coat of Bourjois "Rouge Obscur" and one coat of W7 "Cosmic Purple". Then I freehanded the hearts with Bourjois "Fuchsia Bucolique", "Rose Cupcake" and "Rose Satin".

Getting in a lovey-dovey mood here!
