The Digit-al Dozen are Inspired By Each Other - Happy Cloudy Day

Hello lovelies!

I'm currently in the process of moving house and have been for the last few weeks, hence the lack of blogging... but I managed to get some manis done for this month's Digit-al Dozen challenge! We're being inspired by each other, so I randomly chose some of the other ladies manicures about which I felt I would be able to recreate.. starting with Marisa's - A.K.A. Polish Those Nails - happy clouds mani!

The Digit-al Dozen does Paper - Party

Hi lovelies!

So you know, parties often include a large amount of paper... cups, plates, napkins, and even the decorations are also often made of paper. So I decided to decorate my nails with

....boom and I had accidentally fallen asleep.. the week has been insane and I keep falling asleep after I get home from work! Anyways, as I was saying, I decorated my nails with party flag banners and confetti!

Duochrome spring florals!

Hello lovelies!

Today was a very spring-y day, it is my aunt's birthday and it is my half-birthday, so all this calls for a happy spring-y manicure! I recreated a recent mani by Pink & Polished NailsEver since I saw it on IG, I couldn't get it out of my mind, so I had to do something about it!

Tutorial Tuesday: Funky Vintage

Hello lovelies!

This tutorial will be about creating the vintage mani I have done a few times (here and here), and now I will explain how! This time, I decided to make it funky... ;)

Polishes used for this mani: Sally Hansen Miracle Cure base coat, W7 White, Etos black striper, Paris Memories 236, Hema no. 23 (dark blue), Rimmel "Out Of The Blue" (medium), Essence "Sure Azure" (light blue), Etos Quick Dry 115 and Seche Vite.

So here's the tutorial!

Tutorial Tuesday: Essence "Me & My Ice Cream" Trend Edition Nail Art

Hello lovely lacquer lovers!

The new trend edition of Essence has just hit the stores, so I wanted to inspire you with some nail art! First a swatch of "Icylicious":

It is a really nice colour, but sadly not opaque in 2 coats. This is 3 coats, and still there are some spots where it has not quite leveled. Oh well, I still like it! The shimmer makes up for everything, once the sunlight hits it ;)

Now onto the nail art. I used "Ice Ice Baby" for the lilac:

Now here is the tutorial! Enjoy!

FoF: Hot Pink & Black Lace

Hi lovelies!

Time for another Friends on Friday! My friend went on holidays and the sea did wonders for her nails; they grew! So she kept them long for me until I could pain them. I saw something on Oh My Gosh Polish's IG, that she in turn had based on @Ra_Dina. This is my take on the matter!

The base colour is Catrice "The Pinky and the Brain" and the black is done with a striper and a dotting tool.

What do you think?

Swatch-It Sunday: Paris Memories 236, 240, 289 & My First Helmer

Hello lovelies!

Sorry, I have been MIA for a while. I missed Friends on Friday, again! I will make it up to you next week. Tonight I do however have some swatches for you, so feast you eyes on that! They are from 3 pretties form Paris Memories, a budget-friendly make-up brand. My mother gave them to me :) She also gave me a Helmer to put them in! <3 <3 <3

These are the pretties I swatched:

Let's start with the mauve one, no. 240:

It is very pretty, even prettier on the nails than in the bottle! 2 coats are enough to make it opaque. It is a bit tricky to even out the streaks though, as is common with these metallic finishes. But it is forgiven, given the way it makes your hands look all sophisticated. This I could wear alone to a job interview. Got another one of those coming up soon, so I will keep this in mind!

Next up is no. 289, a greyish blue metallic pretty. Same as the mauve, opaque in 2 coats and prettier on the nails than in the botttle!

Finally I have no. 236, a black beauty. Opaque in 2 think coats and very good for nail art, like dotting and such, because of the high opacity.

Look at the reflection of the sky in the nails! Drool! ;)

Now for some nail art with these 3 pretties:

Just a dotticure gradient :) This was photographed in the fading sunlight, in the last hours of a beautiful day :)

Thanks mommie, for all the goodies!

PS. These polishes are available in The Netherlands at Douglas and various budget shops.

Green Fizz Fun!

Hey lovelies!

The other day, I googled "Bourjois Green Fizz" and found that google showed my swatches! This of course made me do several dances in my living room ;) I also found an awesome mani with Green Fizz, that I simply HAD to recreate. It needed two polishes, namely Green Fizz (doh) and W7 "Cosmic Green". I did not own the latter yet, and had not give myself permission to buy it yet either! But last week, The Lieutenant and I decided to go budget shopping, and she bought a pair of lovely shoes. Then we found this clothing store in which the highest priced item was 5 euros! I found 2 awesome knits and The Lieutenant found a bold belt :)

One of the knits happened to have the exact Green Fizz colour, so there I had my excuse to go buy Cosmic Green to create the mani, so that I could wear the new shirt with the mani to the department's barbecue. Sadly, it was really cold, so after an hour I really needed to wear my jacket, but suffering the cold for an hour was totally worth it. So without further ado, I give you Green Fizz Fun!

With the lovely knit and my bracelet:

This is two coats of Green Fizz on my thumb, middle finger and ring finger, and one coat of Green Fizz with two coats of Cosmic Green on my index finger and pinky! Cosmic Green is a lovely glitter bomb with gold and blue glitter, creating a green illusion. I used my dotting tool for the dots.

What do you think, do you love it as much as I do? It sparkled so bright, it was fantastic!

Friends on Friday: Neon owls :D :D

Hellooooo!

Last week, my friend got me all sorts of pretties from England. So I had to do her nails and try out a few. This is the result!

I used a base of NYC "City Blackout". Then I painted the eyes and ears and hearts of the owls with white varnish. After that dried, I coloured them with a dotting tool and different neon polishes, of which the pink is a limited edition Barry M that my friend got me, an neon pink from the Summer Bright collection. On the other nails I created a feather effect, using Barry M Confetti nail polishes 1 and 5. Loooove! Have nothing like it, so it was a must-have! :D :D :D This mani and the fact that we finally were able to talk face to face after ages, called for a celebratory snack:

Icecream with fresh strawberries! Thank you my friend, for getting me all these pretties <3

Ten Tuxedos

Hey lovelies!

Just got back from a wedding. It was marvellous. The bride was gorgeous and the groom very handsome. He is my cousin. It was a great party and I'm typing this with one eye already shut (litereally).

So in short. One of my sisters was wearing black and white, so I decided to do a tuxedo mani (which had been on my to-do list forever:

I used Etos long lasting white, a black striper from Janet for the contours, Essence "Ticket to the Show" to fill in the tuxedo and for the bow tie I used Essence striper "Mysterious Black". For the button, I used a bobby pin (I was being stupid and couldn't find my dotting tool) and Ticket to the Show, again.

I really love it. It is how Zooey Deschanel had her nails a long while back.

Ok that's it, ladies, my other eye is falling down too!

Lots of xo's,

Friends on Friday - Fun with Friends

Hi dearies!

Sometimes I bring my nail polish to my friends and paint their nails. I especially like to do dotticures, because it's fast and fun! Also, it does not make a whole lot of mess, nor does it require too many tools, so I only need to bring minimal supplies ;)

Ok today I show you the first mani:

I used 2 thin coats of W7 "Mosaic", and put 3 stripes with my white striper from Etos, and then placed dots with white long lastin nail polish from Etos. I then took another W7 polish, "Shirley Temple" and placed little shimmery dots in the white. So there you have it, a party mani ;) And blue, for it is Autism Awareness month, after all!

Thanks to my friend, who lend me her hands!

And don't forget to enter our giveaway!

Friends on Friday: Bring me Spring!

Hi!

I thought, well there's a theme! Friends on Friday, where we post our friends' nails! So here goes, a quick happy dotticure that screeeaaams for Spring. (I don't know about you, but where we are it's still kinda winter-ish... Perhaps Sunday will be the first real day of spring, they keep telling us on the weather forecast. I'll believe it when I see it!)

For this dotticure I used Essence "Destination Sunshine" from the Ready to Board collection as a base. Then I made dots with my dotting tool and various colours, which I don't remember.

BRING US SPRING!!

If we all keep screaming this, it might work ;)

Puzzled

Hello lovelies!

The Lieutenant required a new mani, the Captain decided (she needed to paint). After seeing all these lovely autism awareness manis and seeing many puzzle pieces, I wanted to try it. The Lieutenant decided on the colour: red. She was feeling sexy ;)
This is the result!

I used Bourjois "Rouge in Style" for the red, Essence "Shopping Trip in Soho" and "Little Miss Sunrise" for the pink and yellow, respectively. For the peach, I used the one from Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours. Then I took a black striper, to outline the puzzle pieces.

The puzzle pieces themselves were done by making 4 squares in different colours, and then taking a dotting tool and placing the connective pieces in all colours.

Do you like it?
