Guest Post by Lady Maid Nails

Hello readers!

So the lovely Lothwen is working on her graduation! Since she's running out of time, she does not have time to blog. She reached out for some guest help and I was happy to help out. I'm Mandy of Lady Maid Nails on Instagram and over on my blog. For today I created a 'sexy and classy' look for you as Lothwen described it. I couldn't agree more! I recently won a collection from Above The Curve Nail Polish, so today I have some art and a quick review.

I am Virginie of Beltane Secret. It is an honor for me to present to you an article here at a nail blogger I greatly admire!

Hello folks!

This is Priscilla from pobbynails! A few weeks ago, I saw Lothwen's post on a Facebook nail community that she's looking for guest bloggers! So I contacted her and I made a new friend :). For a week or so I was wondering what to blog about. Wanted to do some swatches, but reckoned that it may be too plain. & snapped! What about a simple pictorial! :D So here we go!

Guest Post by Nail Art Novice - Mani Swap!

Hello Manis and Makeovers readers!

My name is Jenni and I blog over at http://nailartnovice.blogspot.co.uk/. I want to say a big thank you to Lothwen for having me on her blog-we both needed guest posters for June so we decided to swap posts for each other! We chose to do a mani swap and the one of Lothwen's that I chose was the spotty one from this post because I thought it was really cool. I did mix up the colours a little though-I'm really not a pink kinda gal!

I used all Barry M polishes, mostly from the Gelly line, which I love! So many fab colours and brilliant coverage. I used (from thumb to little finger on my left hand): Mango, Satsuma, Prickly Pear, Plum, Key Lime, Watermelon, Greenberry, Guava, Elderberry and Damson plus Matt White.

Here's what I ended up with!

Guest Post by Narmai from PiggieLuv.com

Hey lovelies!

I have another guest post for you today! This one is from my fellow Dutchie Narmai from the fabulous PiggieLuv.com nail art page. She created something that is totally me: neon and stars... I love it! Thank you Narmai :)
Hi ladies! My name is Narmai and I'm so excited to guest post here on Manis and Makeovers!!! For today's post, I made a neon tape mani. I used two brandless neon polishes to create a gradient first. Then I applied tape from one side of the nail to the other, in a diagonal line. I painted Picture Polish black on top of that, and then quickly removed the tape before the polish dried. This is what makes the cool, clean lines.
You can now play with your stripes! Fill up the neon lines with black wherever you want, you can create cool patterns this way! I chose to apply little star glitters afterwards, making it look like falling stars.
I hope you like this design! Thanks so much hon, for giving me a chance to spam your readers!!!

1st Guest Post from Southern Sparkle Nail Art

Dear lovelies,

I'm very busy at the moment, working full time and now I have taken it upon me to also graduate from uni, since I had not done that yet. So as I'm writing my thesis, other lovely people will guest post on my behalf. Here's the first guest and she's my Twin Bestie, Samantha! Yes you read that correctly, the FIRST post! Since I do not have time to do twinsies with her, she has taken it upon herself to write 2 posts, in order to keep my blog going. She's the sweetest <3

Hello Lacquer Lovers!

While Lothwen studies, it's up to her buddies! Haha. It's me, Samantha, from Southern Sparkle Nail Art. Today I have an easy nail art look for you. If you spend an extra minute on a one color mani, you can achieve this super chic look!

Twinsie Thursday - 80's Funk!

Hey lovelies!

Get ready for another Twinsie Thursday with Samantha from Southern Sparkle Nail Art!!

Hello Lacquer Lovers!

I’m back! Yes, I’m back for another Twinsie Thursday! The theme was the 80’s! As a child of the late 90’s I had some research to do, but I hope that y’all like what I’ve come up with! The color scheme was purple, black, yellow, and white.

I used a different technique for this design! In fact, the design had been painted 3 days before! If you have guessed already, I made my own nail stickers! I will have a super in depth tutorial on how to do that on my blogSunday, so if you would like to see that please stop on by!

I used ProFX Quick Dry Top Coat, a unnamed Color Club Yellow, an unnamed Color Club Purple, Wet n Wild French White Crème, Sinful Colors Black on Black, China Glaze Whirled Away, and Sinful Color Clear Coat.

For the index and pinkie nails I painted 2 coats of my base color and 1 coat of China Glaze Whirled Away. For my middle finger I used tape to make a chevron and used my dotting tool with Sinful Colors Black on Black. For my ring finger I used tape to make a chevron pattern and used my dotting tool with Wet n Wild French White Crème and Sinful Colors Black on Black. I top coated and I was off!
I thought it looked very neat with a black and white filter, so I thought you may want to take a look!
I used an artificial white light to show the true colors.

You can see Lothwen's creation here!

Thanks again for having me Lothwen! We will have to do this again soon!

Thanks Samantha! I really love your take on it, and I love how we both thought triangles! Whirled away goes PERFECT with this, good thinking! We will make this a monthly thing :D

Twinsie Thursday: Monsters University

Dear lovelies,

Today me and the lovely Samantha from Southern Sparkle Nail Art swap posts. We both did our take on Monsters University manicures and here is Samantha's awesome creation!

Hello Lacquer Lovers!

Today Lothwen and I decided to swap posts! The time differences between us are kind of major, so you may be seeing my post on Thursday or Friday! For this Twinsie Thursday our theme was Monsters University! As a kid Monsters Inc. was one of my favorite movies, so of course I was down for this! Note, I may or may not have looked like a crazy teenager running into the theater. :)

For all of my nails but the accent nail I used one coat of Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing topped with three thin coats of Sally Hansen Wool Knot. The texture of Wool Knot was perfect for my Sully inspired nails, even though there was no purple!

For my accent nail I decided a portrait of my favorite character, Mike, was in order. I started off with one coat of Wet n Wild French White Crème to make the jelly neon green pop! I used three thin coats of Sinful Colors Irish Green. For Mike’s eye I used a small googly eye I purchased from my local craft store and for his mouth I used L.A. Colors Art Deco Pen in Black.

I hope you all enjoyed my post! Trust me, there will be more of these types of posts in the future between Lothwen and I! You can find Lothwen’s post on my blog HERE!

Until next time!

Thank you Samantha, for this lovely post and for doing the swap with me! I loved it! So yes, dear reader, there will be more...
