The Digit-al Dozen does Books - Papyrus

Hello lovelies!

So books... usually they're printed on paper and what's the precursor to paper? Indeed, papyrus. Ancient Egyptian books were written on papyrus and I had this wonderful plate lying around, begging to be used, so here goes!

The Digit-al Dozen does Books - Text

Hi lovelies!

The Digit-al Dozen is inspired by books this month! I plan to do all five manis this time, but it's very late now, so I'm gonna keep it short. My first mani is inspired by something most books consist of: text.

The Digit-al Dozen's Indie Love Week - Lina, M Polish and Ms. Sparkle

Hi lovelies!

Today three indies, one of which untried, in a manicure that is also dedicated to The REAL Nail Addicts facebook group admin Kat, for her birthday! We figured out that her favourite colours were earthy toned ones, so I did a nude/brown/black manicure in her honour:

Potion Polish "Shimmering Flats"

Hello lovelies!

Yesterday was the first Tropical Day here in The Netherlands, with temperatures north of 30°C, and today is still very very hot indeed, which calls for a polish that is called "Shimmering Flats", which sounds incredibly hot, doesn't it? I googled it and apparently it is some kind of desert wasteland thing in WoW. Apparently this whole collection is about games, lol! I just figured The Dunes, cool, I like the dunes. We have lots of them, they are our natural water defence mechanism and one of our most beautiful spots of nature! I really am not much of a gamer, I stick to Candy Crush and Wordfeud ;)

Now onto the nails!

Rosey

Hi lovelies!

Remember that lovely polish from Incidental Twin's Downton Abbey Flower Garden line - Lady Mary? I showed you what it looked like with white stamping, but I couldn't resist trying some darker stamping as well, inspired by the flower garden theme... and this is the result:

Friends on Friday - Yay my friend got married!

Hi lovelies!

Recently one of my friends got married! I was super happy that she asked me to do her nails :) She got married in a small ceremony, in a super cute dress, which you can see in the pics. The pictures were all (but one) taken by the wedding photographer, who kindly provided me with the pictures to share.

Essence "The Satins"

Hello lovelies!

I have some swatches of some new Essence pretties, called The Satins, which have, surprise surprise, a satin finish. I was curious as to how that would turn out, so I purchased them. First up is New York City Call, a nude shimmer with a golden undertone:

Swatch-It Sunday: Salon Nails from Japan - 04, 19 & 20

Hello lovelies!

Today, I have swatches from the gift that The Lieutenant brought me from Japan! Salon Nails was ranked no. 1 by the Japanese public, so she thought I had to check it out :D She brought me 3 colour/finish combi's that I was still lacking. Way to go Lieutenant! :D

Now onto the swatches! First up: no. 19. A nude packed with tiny glass flecks. This is what it looks like in daylight:
Look at it in the sunlight! Whoa! It is gorgeous. This is 3 coats, no undies.

This is number 4. This has more of a shimmer, and is less sparkly. The colour is lovely and more opaque than the others. This is 2 coats, no undies, in daylight.

Number 20 is very sparkly again, because, like no. 19, it is packed with glass flecks. This is 3 coats, no undies and was taken in direct sunlight:

I'm very pleased with these. Not only because they are a valuable addition to my collection, but also because the formulas are very nice to work with. The wide brush took me some getting used to, but it is easy to use after a bit of fiddling in the beginning. That is because it was not rounded, just widened.

Did some nail art, a simple dotticure, with the 3 of them:

It creates a very subtle gradient effect. I like it.

I'm wearing no. 20 to a job interview tomorrow. Will show you what I did with it. Wish me luck!

Gradient and glitter goodness

Hey hey!

Quick post;
So, on my right hand, I started out with the same ombre as for the butterfly, but didn't feel like trying to paint with my left hand, so I just did an ombre, adding some extra NYC "Revolving Red" on the tips (as in the previous post, it already had Catrice "Sing: Oh, Champs-Élysées" as a base, and then sponged on Essence "What do u think?" and "Fame Fatal", mixed with a little pink polish). Then I added Essence "It's just a little crush" over it, which gave it a frosty finish. The next day, I had been cleaning, so it had chipped. I decided to tape it with a glitter polish from Max:

That's it!
Soon you will learn from the Lieutenant how to make crazy braids in your hair :)
