Spring Chique

Hello lovelies!

Spring has arrived, but it's been hardly noticeable over here.. But I wanted some flowers on my nails and I wanted to play with polishes I had bought from Ms. Sparkle, so I came up with this!

The Digit-al Dozen - Get to know ME! - Flowers

Hello lovelies!

This month, The Digit-al Dozen focuses on the person behind the nail art, the blogger herself, the individual.. which for this particular little corner of the internet is ME! So the upcoming 5 days, I'll let you get to know me through some manicures and I thought it would be fun to start with my name...

Rosey

Hi lovelies!

Remember that lovely polish from Incidental Twin's Downton Abbey Flower Garden line - Lady Mary? I showed you what it looked like with white stamping, but I couldn't resist trying some darker stamping as well, inspired by the flower garden theme... and this is the result:

Pearlies, Purples & Roses

Hi lovelies!

Of course I couldn't leave Ms. Sparkle's "Pearl" alone either,  so I did some double stamping over that as well! Let's have a look ;)

BPS Squishy Stamper, Green Stamping Polish & BP-L029

Hello lovelies!

Remember last night's sapphire beauty from Mod Lacquer? I decided to do a little stamping over it, since I had just received new stamping material from bornprettystore.com! I received 4 stamping polishes and their new super squishy stamper. So I put them up to the test, starting with the green one:

Twin Blog Post - May Flowers

Hello lovelies!

Time for this month's Twin Nails Collaboration post! We were odd-numbered, so we became a triplet! How fun :D Meet my triplet friends Nail Art Novice & The Dalai Lama's Nails :) This month's theme is flowers and we were assigned with roses. Since we'd done many rose manis already, we decided we'd wanna do them somewhat differently, so we went with a black-white-neon colour scheme. This is what I came up with:

Friends on Friday: Dots 'n Roses

Hello lovelies!

Time for a good old Friends on Friday, with a new friend and colleague! She volunteered her hands AND bought me a beer :D Excellent deal, don't you think?

She had just bought a new top with dots and was wearing it, so I got inspired. This is the result (captured with my phone, but not too bad this time):
I used W7 Black and White as the base and for the dots. Then I freehanded the roses with a nail art brush, and various colours, some of which I  mixed with white to get the right shade. A tutorial for a similar design, can be found here
The mani lasted for more than 4 days, lol! We'll be doing this again soon, it's a welcome break from screen-staring ;)

ManiMonday - Foxy Paws "Let Love Be Love" Vday mani

Hello lovelies!

To all these lovely fellow lacqueristas who shared my page, THANK YOU! And to those who liked my page, THANK YOU! I'm nearing 600 likes! It is just fantastic, I'm soooo happy! Thank you thank you thank you!

Now this mani I wore to a party at which that guy from the bowling would also be present. So it needed to be pretty, even though I knew he wouldn't even notice, of course. One does these things for oneself. Even though I had nothing but nubs, they had to be prettified. So it became Foxy Paws "Let Love Be Love", with a rose accent nail.

Tutorial Tuesday: Funky Vintage

Hello lovelies!

This tutorial will be about creating the vintage mani I have done a few times (here and here), and now I will explain how! This time, I decided to make it funky... ;)

Polishes used for this mani: Sally Hansen Miracle Cure base coat, W7 White, Etos black striper, Paris Memories 236, Hema no. 23 (dark blue), Rimmel "Out Of The Blue" (medium), Essence "Sure Azure" (light blue), Etos Quick Dry 115 and Seche Vite.

So here's the tutorial!

Simple classy job interview mani

Hi there!

I created a mani that you can wear to a job interview. I wore it to an intake appointment at a company. The Lieutenant helped a great deal. She picked the base colour, a pale pink, and that made me decide to go for roses on the accent nail. She also prepped me for the conversation. Thank you Lieutenant!

I used one coat of Essence Studio Nails Pro White Rosé (because my natural nails are so yellow and the pink is not opaque enough) and 2 coats of Essence "Sweet as Candy". Then I painted the roses with a dotting tool and Bourjois "Fuchsia Bucolique", "Rose Cupcake" and some of the pink Essence polish. For the leaves, I used Essence "Upper Green Side" and an unnamed Etos green.

That's it!
