King's Day 2015

Hello lovelies,

Happy Koningsdag, or King's Day, to all ye Dutchies! A celebratory manicure is of course a must:

Not having much time, I created a quick manicure with stamping and dry-brushing and some decoration. The result is this skittlette!

The orange (Hema 706 - Summer Party) is one of those nasty polishes that looks completely different you your nails than it does in the bottle. In this case, the bottle-colour is a few tints lighter and more resembles the colour of the stamp (which was done with that exact colour). On my ring finger, I started with a base of Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" and then dry brushed with Essence "Topscorers" and an unnamed Hema blue polish. The little crowns are from bornprettystore (here) and the big one, I ordered ages ago and I don't remember where ;) I should have bent them over a rosewood stick, but I forgot, I was being too hasty! I stamped over the orange with BPS L005 and Laushine white stamping polish. I thought this image resembled a royal wallpaper, lol ;)

So, what do you think? Did you ever use metallic decals like these? Do you like to use them, or do you find them to stick up too much?

  5. That looks so pretty! And yes, the white and orange nails definitely look like royal wallpaper! Haha :) I've never used metallic decals, I hate that they wouldn't bend over the nails. Do you think bending them before use would actually help?

  7. I haven't used decals like that but they give the mani a kind of punk effect that is awesome!

  9. I am actually pretty impressed that you recognised Kings Day! I was in the market for it and it was great fun. Sadly though, my nails didn't look as brilliant as this :)
