New Essence Pretties!

Hello lovelies!

There are some new Essence pretties in store and I want to show you two of them. They're "Turn The Lights On" and "Girl's Best Friend". I bought both of them, because I thought they'd look awesome together. But first let's look at them on their own ;)

This is "Turn The Lights On", a very pale mint shimmer polish. Essence calls it a "soft metal" look. I don't know about the metal, but it sure is soft! This is two coats. Application is a little annoying and may end up with a little bubbling, so I recommend letting the first coat dry well, before adding the second. Despite these issues, it's a good polish, considering the price.

"Girl's Best Friend" is a clear polish packed with different sized silver hexes and gold microglitter. It has a very luxurious look. This is three coats, no issues; a winner, in my book! This would also look pretty as a top coat over another polish.

I did a glitter gradient with the both of them. I love glitter gradients, they're so simple, yet classy. Since "Girl's Best Friend" is a true glitter bomb, it is very suitable for this type of nail art.

I also tried a chevron look. This didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted, the glitters are too coarse for such fine chevrons. But it's still kinda cute, I thought. I used chevron vinyl stencils from Neverland Lacquers (like the vinyls I used here, here, here and here!). I will do another mani with these to show them to you in more detail.

What do you think of these two new colours? And which nail art look do you like best?

  1. I don't like them at all on their own but that chevron, oh my! I have no idea how you figured it in your head, it looks so beautiful to me as it is!

  2. Oh, you could do the chevron the other way around, though! Use the opaque one on top of the glitter? Love the glitter gradient, too!
